Description
First launched in 2011, this Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial Chronometer, the ref. 232.30.46.21.01.003, came as part of the second generation update to the series. Positioned as the highest-grade professional option for diving in the brand’s catalog, the watch continued on the tradition of the series which preceded it from 2005, catching fire among enthusiasts for its ability to touch the bottom of the ocean and return unscathed.
Featuring a hard-wearing 45.5mm by 17mm steel case, the watch has plenty of Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial Chronometer signatures, including easily adjustable screw-down crown, helium escape, and deeply toothed unidirectional diving bezel with a ceramic insert. It’s a watch that from its case alone oozes confidence in and out of the water, and one that’s more than prepared for a few bumps along the way.
On the black dial, just like the case, the focus of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial Chronometer is on functionality, the configuration as a whole maintaining superior legibility with its bolder markers and hands contrasting against a dark background, with cheeky touches of orange scattered around. A small date window blends into the style at the three o’clock position, providing the watch some more everyday usefulness, but without distracting from the clear diver-focus of the even more professional-grade Seamaster.
