At its launch, the Rolex GMT-Master II, 116713 was well-regarded for both its technical updates and aesthetic novelty, adding to the famed design family a new two-tone look at an attractive sizing at 40mm by 13mm. The watch came with a matching oyster-style bracelet, a black Cerachrom bezel with gold-colored accenting, and an extremely on-brand dial with even more gold accents for a watch with plenty of distinction on the wrist. These features culminated to produce an overall striking timepiece that crosses the boundaries between traditional connotations of luxury and sport at Rolex, and today help the watch serve as one of the most distinct modern GMT-Master II references available.

Powering the two-tone GMT-Master II is the Rolex caliber 3186, a chronometer automatic movement capable of a 50-hour power reserve. While technically the last generation when compared to the Rolex caliber 3285 launched in 2018 and its 70 hours of reserve, the 3186 is nonetheless at its core a skillful movement that provides the modern GMT-Master II with its famed ease of use making it ready and equipped for any journey, foreign or domestic.
